performance:
Germanium sulfide has unique optical and electronic speed-changing properties, as well as its high stability, abundant reserves, environmental friendliness, low toxicity and other properties. More importantly, its bandgap is small, and the germanium sulfide film has the ability to absorb single-electron polymorphic exciters. The potential of ions is expected to be applied to new photoelectric detection devices.
Main properties
1. Germanium sulfide, white powder. Orthorhombic crystal structure.
2. Density 2.19g/cm3. Melting point 800℃.
3. The molten state is bright brown and transparent, with a melting point of 5.81g/cm3.
4. Insoluble in water and inorganic acids (including strong acids), easily soluble in hot alkali, and soluble in ammonia or diamine sulfide to form germanium imide.
application:
Germanium sulfide is a substance that highly absorbs microwave radiation. Therefore, when microwave radiation is used for sulfide volatilization, only the sulfide in it selectively absorbs the microwave radiation, generating an instant high temperature, causing the germanium and sulfur to react to form germanium sulfide, while the germanium sulfide continues to absorb microwaves. Radiation reaches the temperature of sublimation and volatilization. Microwave radiation is highly transmissive and uniform. The volatilization efficiency of germanium sulfide is high and will not produce excessive local high temperatures. The main product obtained is germanium sulfide, which is conducive to subsequent processing. Compared with The indirect heating method of fumigation furnace and rotary kiln and the heat conduction through the medium are superior.
production method:
1. Directly synthesize germanium and sulfur at 1000°C; heat germanium to 850°C to sublimate in a hydrogen sulfide gas flow; decompose germanium disulfide in a hydrogen gas flow; heat germanium disulfide and germanium together; make hydrogen sulfide and hydrogen Reaction in germanium dioxide, etc.
2. Place 5g of germanium dioxide in a 250mL beaker, moisten it with water, add 25mL of 10mol/L sodium hydroxide aqueous solution, and heat steadily. After the solution is cooled, neutralize it with 6mol/L hydrochloric acid (do not boil to avoid volatilization of the generated germanium tetrachloride). Continue adding hydrochloric acid until the precipitated germanium hydroxide is redissolved. Transfer approximately 150 mL of the transparent solution to a 500 mL Erlenmeyer flask, and add 50 mL of concentrated hydrochloric acid (to make the acidity of the solution 3 mol/L). Then add 25g of 50% hypophosphorous acid and heat on a water bath for 2 to 4 hours. Cool the solution in water and neutralize it with 50 to 60 mL of concentrated ammonia water until the generated germanium hydroxide precipitate no longer disappears. Hydrogen sulfide was bubbled through the solution under pressure until saturated. The resulting reddish-brown precipitate was collected in a Gouch funnel and washed with slightly acidic water adjusted to hydrochloric acid. Dry over phosphorus pentoxide.
